Abstract: Telegram application is one of the initiatives used by preschool teachers to continue teaching and learning due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. This article aims to review the potential developing of home-based teaching and learning (PdPR) using Telegram as an alternative to conventional face-to-face teaching. This application is a communication platform used in various social statuses of the community. The advantages available in this application make preschool teachers more comfortable to make it the main platform in the implementation of PdPR. The communication and collaborative elements in this application can also support the teaching and learning delivery method according to the teacher’s creativity. The Telegram application is seen to be in line with three aspects of the preschool curriculum, namely content, pedagogy and assessment in line with the pillars of preschool education which promotes the application of technology and multimedia in preschool teaching and learning.
Abstrak: Aplikasi Telegram merupakan salah satu inisiatif yang digunakan oleh guru prasekolah untuk meneruskan pengajaran dan pembelajaran akibat penularan pandemik Covid-19. Artikel ini bertujuan menyorot potensi pengembangan pengajaran dan pembelajaran di rumah (PdPR) menggunakan aplikasi Telegram sebagai alternatif untuk menggantikan pengajaran secara tradisional bersemuka. Aplikasi ini merupakan platform komunikasi digunakan dalam pelbagai status sosial masyarakat. Kelebihan yang ada dalam aplikasi ini menjadikan guru prasekolah lebih selesa untuk menjadikannya sebagai platform utama dalam pelaksanaan PdPR secara atas talian. Elemen komunikasi dan kolaboratif dalam aplikasi ini juga dapat menyokong kaedah penyampaian pengajaran dan pembelajaran mengikut kreativiti guru. Sorotan ini mendapati aplikasi Telegram sesuai dengan tiga aspek kurikulum prasekolah iaitu kandungan, pedagogi dan pentaksiran sejajar dengan tunjang pendidikan prasekolah yang menggalakkan aplikasi teknologi dan multimedia dalam PdP prasekolah.
