FAKTOR DAN KESAN KETERLIBATAN PELAJAR TERHADAP PENCAPAIAN AKADEMIK [FACTORS AND IMPLICATION OF STUDENT ENGAGEMENT ON ACHIEVEMENT]

Abstrak: Pihak sekolah sering memberikan perhatian terhadap keterlibatan pelajar dalam pembelajaran. Keterlibatan pelajar dari sudut kognitif, tingkah laku dan emosi merupakan salah satu aspek pembelajaran dan perkembangan para pelajar di sekolah. Bagi memastikan tahap keterlibatan yang tinggi dalam kalangan pelajar, maka kajian terhadap faktor yang menarik perhatian pelajar untuk melibatkan diri mereka dalam pembelajaran amat penting untuk dikenalpasti. Satu kajian berbentuk sistematik review telah dijalankan untuk mengkaji faktor dan kesan keterlibatan pelajar terhadap pencapaian akademik. Model PRISMA dipilih untuk menjadi garis panduan dalam pencarian literatur. Sampel yang dipilih dalam kajian ini adalah dalam kalangan mereka yang berumur 7 hingga 26 tahun daripada negara yang berlainan. Kajian ini berbentuk gabungan antara kajian kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Reka bentuk kajian yang dipilih adalah reka bentuk eksperimental dan kuasi-eksperimental, korelasi dan kajian tinjauan. Instrumen kajian yang dipilih adalah melalui soal selidik dan ujian. Dapatan kajian telah menemui 15 faktor yang mempengaruhi keterlibatan pelajar dalam pembelajaran di sekolah. Faktor-faktor utama yang dikenalpasti dibahagikan kepada empat kategori iaitu demografi, kontekstual, individu dan persekitaran.
Abstract: Schools often pay attention to student engagement. Student involvement in terms of cognitive, behavioral and emotional is an aspect of student learning and development in school. To ensure a high level of involvement among students, then the factors are very important to be identified in advance. A systematic review study was conducted to examine the factors and effects of student involvement on academic achievement. The PRISMA model was chosen to be the guideline in the literature search. Among the samples selected in this study are between the ages of 7 to 26 years and above from different countries. This research is using a combination of quantitative and qualitative. The selected study designs were such as experimental and quasi-experimental, correlation and survey studies. The research instruments chosen were questionnaires and tests. The findings have found 15 factors that influence student involvement in learning in school. The main factors identified are divided into four categories namely demographic, contextual, individual and environmental.
