KAJIAN TINJAUAN SISTEMATIK: PANDEMIK COVID-19: IMPAK TERHADAP KESIHATAN MENTAL PELAJAR [IMPACT OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON THE STUDENTS’ MENTAL HEALTH: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW STUDY]

Abstrak: Pandemik COVID-19 yang melanda dunia telah memberi impak yang negatif dalam pelbagai aspek kehidupan termasuk pembangunan sosial dan bidang pendidikan. Perubahan yang berlaku terhadap fenomena kehidupan manusia kini telah mewujudkan tekanan emosi dan mental yang memberi implikasi yang besar terhadap kesejahteraan pelajar terutamanya dari aspek kesihatan mental. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kajian tinjauan sistematik untuk mengkaji impak semasa pandemik COVID-19 terhadap kesihatan mental pelajar. Proses pemilihan artikel adalah berdasarkan prosedur PRISMA. 20 artikel telah dipilih dan digunakan dalam kajian ini untuk mengenal pasti masalah kesihatan mental pelajar semasa pandemik. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan pandemik COVID-19 membawa impak yang negatif terhadap kesihatan mental pelajar. Isu-isu kesihatan mental dan gangguan psikologi seperti kebimbangan, kemurungan, tekanan, gangguan tidur, kesunyian, kesedihan dan konflik interpersonal telah meningkat dalam kalangan pelajar. Kajian ini membuktikan bahawa kepentingan meningkatkan kesihatan mental dan emosi dalam kalangan pelajar perlu diberikan kesedaran dan peneguhan.
Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic that hit the world has had a negative impact in various aspects of life including social development and the field of education. The changes that have taken place in the phenomenon of human life have now created emotional and mental stress which has huge implications on the well -being of students especially from the aspect of mental health. This study uses a systematic survey research method to examine the current impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students’ mental health. The article selection process is based on the PRISMA procedure. 20 articles were selected and used in this study to identify students’ mental health problems during the pandemic. The findings of the study showed that the COVID-19 pandemic had a negative impact on the mental health of students. Mental health issues and psychological disorders have increased among students such as anxiety, depression, stress, sleep disorders, loneliness, sadness and interpersonal conflict. Studies prove that the importance of improving mental and emotional health among students needs to be given awareness and reinforcement.
