PENGINTEGRASIAN TEKNOLOGI SMART TV DALAM PENDIDIKAN: ISU DAN CABARAN [THE INTEGRATION OF SMART TV TECHNOLOGY IN EDUCATION: ISSUES AND CHALLENGES]

Abstrak Kemajuan pesat dalam teknologi terutamanya di bawah Revolusi Perindustrian 4.0, telah memberi kesan signifikan terhadap sektor pendidikan. Dasar Pendidikan Digital menekankan pengintegrasian teknologi secara menyeluruh ke dalam bilik darjah, sekali gus memperkasa amalan pengajaran dan pembelajaran guru di Malaysia melalui pendekatan yang lebih inovatif dan berkesan. Walaupun teknologi Smart TV berpotensi memperkaya proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran, pelaksanaannya dalam konteks pendidikan masih berdepan pelbagai cabaran. Sehubungan itu, kajian ini dilaksanakan bagi meneliti secara mendalam isu dan cabaran yang dihadapi serta merumuskan strategi yang relevan dan berkesan untuk mengintegrasikan teknologi tersebut secara optimum dalam pendidikan di Malaysia. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan walaupun Smart TV menyediakan manfaat yang besar melalui akses multimedia dan aplikasi pembelajaran interaktif, guru sering menghadapi cabaran dengan kekangan dan infrastruktur, kurang sokongan dan bantuan teknikal, kekangan latihan dan masa dan kompetensi guru. Kertas ini menekankan keperluan untuk pembangunan profesional yang berterusan dan perancangan strategik untuk sepenuhnya memanfaatkan potensi Smart TV. Strategi dalam mengintegrasikan Smart TV dalam pendidikan telah dinyatakan dalam kajian ini iaitu latihan berterusan, sokongan komuniti serta pembangunan infrastruktur dan fasiliti. Dengan adanya kertas konsep ini, diharapkan dapat mengisi kelompangan kajian Smart TV dalam pendidikan secara keseluruhannya.
Abstract: The rapid advancement of technology, particularly under the Fourth Industrial Revolution, has had a significant impact on the education sector. The Digital Education Policy emphasises the comprehensive integration of technology into classrooms, thereby empowering teaching and learning practices among teachers in Malaysia through more innovative and effective approaches. Although Smart TV technology has the potential to enrich the teaching and learning process, its implementation in the educational context continues to face various challenges. Accordingly, this study was conducted to examine in depth the issues and challenges encountered, as well as to formulate relevant and effective strategies for optimally integrating this technology into education in Malaysia. The findings indicate that while Smart TVs offer substantial benefits through access to multimedia and interactive learning applications, teachers often face challenges such as infrastructure limitations, lack of technical support and assistance, constraints in training and time, and limited teacher competency. This paper underscores the need for continuous professional development and strategic planning to fully harness the potential of Smart TVs. The strategies for integrating Smart TVs in education identified in this study include ongoing training, community support, and the development of infrastructure and facilities. It is hoped that this concept paper will address the research gap on Smart TVs in education as a whole.
