Abstract

Abstract: Educational supervision is regarded as one of the fundamental pillars of educational and instructional work within any educational institution. It is intricately linked to all educational inputs in schools, playing a crucial role in relation to teachers, students, administrators, parents, learning resources, and other educational elements. Due to the significant impact that comprehensive educational supervision can have on the success or failure of the educational process, it is essential to identify and address the challenges that hinder its effectiveness. This study aims to explore the obstacles facing comprehensive educational supervision in schools within the Capital Secretariat of Sana'a, as perceived by male and female teachers working in institutions that implement this type of supervision. To achieve the objectives of the study, a descriptive research design employing a quantitative approach was utilized. The primary data collection instrument was a questionnaire consisting of 33 items. This questionnaire was administered to a stratified random sample drawn from the study population, comprising 370 comprehensive educational supervisors working in both public and private schools. Descriptive statistical tools—including standard deviation, mean, frequency, and percentage—were used to analyze the data with the aid of SPSS software. The findings revealed that the impact of comprehensive educational supervision on teachers' personal competencies was assessed at a moderate level. Furthermore, the study found no statistically significant differences in participants’ perceptions based on gender, academic qualification, years of experience, or type of school regarding the effect of comprehensive educational supervision on the personal competencies of teachers in schools across the Capital Secretariat of Sana'a.
