Abstract

Defamation on the honorable companions, may Allah be pleased with them, is a long-standing phenomenon that dates back to the first century of Hijra. To understand the motivations for such revilement, it can be deduced that the primary goal was to insult Islam, which was received by the Messenger of Allah and then passed on to his companions. As a result, to slander the Prophet's companions implies that the message of Islam is false, as claimed by detractors of Islam. Such a phenomenon represents a problem that needs to be investigated in order to respond to shameless groups such as Houthis) that make offensive comments about the Prophet's companions. Furthermore, powerfully good arguments are required to expose the lives of those who insult the Prophet's companions. The importance of this study can be characterized in addressing and reacting to such shameless groups by citing evidence from the Quran and Sunnah, as well as scholars' perspectives, in order to refute shameless their accusations that attempt to manipulate the Quran and Sunnah. This research adopts an analytical inductive approach, which tends to reveal the facts and react to such shameless individuals. The findings of the study revealed that ignorance, together with misconceptions and a lack of educational foundations based on the Quran and Sunnah, is one of the main reasons that contribute to such acts. Furthermore, their arrogance and assumption that they are of superior lineage than the honorable companions and other people, along with Islam's hostility and hate, causes them to use derogatory language toward the Prophet's companions. They are obsessed on insulting great figures who have a huge beneficial impact on spreading Islam's message over the world. The researcher concluded that persuasion requires two prerequisites: a persuasion aim and a compelling argument to persuade such shameless individuals.
