Abstrak: Kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengkaji persepsi pelajar terhadap kesesuaian lawatan akademik dalam bidang industri dalam meningkatkan tahap kefahaman terhadap kursus Motor Control and Drives berdasarkan pandangan pelajar melalui lawatan akademik. 37 orang pelajar Diploma Kejuruteraan Elektrik Semester 5 Politeknik Merlimau yang mengikuti kursus Motor Control and Drives merupakan responden dalam kajian ini. Instrumen kajian yang digunakan ialah soal selidik yang mengandungi 15 item soalan, dibina berdasarkan Skala Likert lima mata dan data mentah yang diperolehi telah dianalisis menggunakan Microsoft Excel Windows 11. Hasil kajian menunjukkan persepsi pelajar terhadap lawatan akademik di industri adalah tinggi dengan nilai min antara 4.57 hingga 4.70. Hasil kajian juga menunjukkan pelajar bersetuju bahawa lawatan akademik dalam bidang industri perlu dipraktikkan sebagai salah satu kaedah pengajaran dan pembelajaran dalam membantu meningkatkan pemahaman pelajar terhadap kursus Motor Control and Drives
Abstract: This study was conducted to investigate students' perceptions of the appropriateness of academic visits in the industrial field and increasing understanding of the Motor Control and Drives course according to students' views through academic visits. 37 Semester 5 Electrical Engineering Diploma students who took the Motor Control and Drives course were respondents in this study. The research instrument used is a questionnaire containing 15 items, built based on a five rating Likert Scale and the raw data obtained has been analysed using Microsoft Excel Windows 11. The results of the study show that students' perception of academic visits in industry is high with a mean value between 4.57 to 4.70. The results of the study also show that students agree that academic visits in industrial fields should be practiced as one of the teaching and learning methods and help improve students' understanding of the Motor Control and Drives course.
