Abstrak: Persekitaran yang melingkari kehidupan Murid Berkeperluan Pendidikan Khas (MBPK) Pendengaran memainkan peranan penting dalam membentuk tingkah laku mereka. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan Teori Ekologi Bronfenbrenner dalam pembentukan tingkah laku Murid Berkeperluan Pendidikan Khas (MBPK) Pendengaran di asrama Sekolah Kebangsaan Pendidikan Khas. Objektif kajian adalah untuk mengenal pasti sama ada faktor persekitaran asrama dapat mempengaruhi disiplin dan tingkah laku MBPK Pendengaran. Kajian ini diharapkan dapat memberi panduan dan bantuan kepada guru-guru dalam mengenali punca pembentukan disiplin dan tingkah laku MBPK Pendengaran seterusnya dapat meningkatkan sahsiah dan mengekang masalah disiplin yang semakin meruncing. Reka bentuk kajian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Kaedah temu bual berstruktur dilaksanakan untuk mengkaji persekitaran asrama mempengaruhi pembentukan tingkah laku MBPK Pendengaran. Kajian ini menggunakan Teori Ekologi Bronfenbrenner untuk menekankan faktor persekitaran mempengaruhi pembentukan tingkah laku MBPK Pendengaran. Responden kajian terdiri daripada empat orang MBPK Pendengaran berumur di antara dua belas hingga sembilan belas tahun yang sedang dan pernah tinggal di asrama. Data kajian ini diperoleh dengan analisis kandungan temu bual menggunakan kaedah pengekodan sebaik sahaja pengumpulan data pertama dilakukan. Pengkaji juga menjalankan pemerhatian dan mengambil nota lapangan sepanjang sesi temu bual dengan responden. Daripada dapatan kajian mendapati faktor persekitaran mempengaruhi pembentukan personaliti dan tingkah laku MBPK Pendengaran yang tinggal di asrama Sekolah pendidikan khas. Persekitaran yang penuh dengan sikap-sikap positif dan disiplin kendiri yang tinggi akan melahirkan MBPK Pendengaran yang bersikap positif dan mempunyai disiplin kendiri yang tinggi.
Abstract: The environment that surrounds the lives of students with Special Education (SPED). Hearing plays an important role in shaping their behaviour. The study was conducted to study the relationship of Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Theory in the formation of behaviour of students with special needs in hearing at dormitories of Special Education Primary School. The objective of the study is to identify whether the dormitories environment factor can affect the discipline and behaviour of the SPED student with hearing. This study is expected to provide guidance and assistance to the teachers in recognizing the cause of the formation of the discipline and behaviour of the SPED student with hearing impairment by enhancing the personality and restraining the increasingly tapered disciplinary problems. The design of the study used a qualitative approach. Structured interview methods are implemented to study the effect of dormitories environment to the formation of personality and behaviour of SPED student with hearing impairment. This study uses Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Theory to emphasize environmental factors affecting the formation of individual behaviour of SPED student with hearing impairment. The respondents of the study consisted of four hearing disabilities students aged between twelve to nineteen that had and is living in the school dormitories. This study data is obtained with an analysis of interviews using the coding method once the first data collection is conducted. Researchers also conduct observations and take field notes throughout the interview session with respondents. From the findings of the study found that the environmental factor affects the formation of the personality and behavioural of the SPED students with hearing impairment that live in the Special Education School Dormitory. The environment with full of positive attitudes and high self-discipline will produce SPED students with hearing impairment which is positive and has a high self-discipline.
