DILEMA MORAL MAHASISWA DALAM MENGHADAPI PERINTAH KAWALAN PERGERAKAN (PKP) SEMASA PANDEMIK COVID-19: SATU KAJIAN KES [STUDENT MORAL DILEMMA IN FACING MOVEMENT CONTROL ORDERS (MCO) DURING COVID-19: A CASE STUDY]

Abstract

Abstrak: Dalam kenyataan rasmi dilaman sesawang Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia, Coronavirus (CoV) adalah sejenis virus yang boleh menyebabkan jangkitan saluran pernafasan. Pihak kerajaan telah mengambil langkah bagi membendung masalah ini dengan mengadakan Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) di seluruh Malaysia selama beberapa peringkat. Terdapat banyak sektor yang telah ditutup sementara dan peraturan baharu yang telah diwujudkan demi merealisasikan matlamat utama iaitu mencegah Covid-19 daripada merebak. Oleh itu perkara tersebut telah mendatangkan banyak dilema kepada pelbagai pihak khususnya golongan mahasiswa. Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk melihat dilema  yang dihadapi oleh mahasiswa/i UPSI. Selain itu, kajian ini juga akan melihat perbezaan dilema di antara pelajar kolej dan pelajar luar kolej. Kajian ini juga melihat keperibadian mahasiswa/i dalam bertingkah laku apabila berhadapan situasi dilema. Data kajian dikutip melalui temu bual yang dilakukan kepada responden. Seterusnya, data akan dipersembahkan dalam  penerangan. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa dilema yang dihadapi adalah terbahagi kepada tiga iaitu perasaan ingin balik ke kampung halaman, makanan dan keperluan diri. Akhir sekali, data menunjukkan persamaan dilema antara mahasiswa kolej dan luar kolej tetapi dalam bentuk yang berbeza seperti dilema dalam balik ke kampung halaman. Bagi pelajar kolej, mereka perlu melalui banyak prosedur yang menyukarkan dan terikat dengan peraturan kolej. Manakala, pelajar luar kolej, lebih mudah prosedur balik ke kampung tetapi dilema mereka adalah sekiranya dijangkiti covid19 sepanjang perjalanan balik ke kampung dan masalah kewangan. Dari segi keperibadian mahasiswa/i, mereka lebih mempertimbangkan jalan tengah dalam teori Aristotle dengan cara mengikuti peraturan yang telah ditetapkan. Kajian ini dapat membantu para pembaca untuk mengetahui dilema-dilema sepanjang Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) semasa pandemik Covid-19.

Abstract: In an official statement on the website of the Ministry of Health Malaysia, Coronavirus (CoV) is a virus that cause respiratory tract infections. The government has taken steps to curb this problem by holding Movement Control Orders (MCO) throughout Malaysia for several stages. There are many sectors that have been temporarily closed and new rules have been created to realized the main goal of preventing Covid-19 from spreading. Therefore, the matter has caused many dilemmas to various parties, especially students. The purpose of this study is to look at the dilemma face by UPSI students. In addition, this study will also look at the dilemma differences between college students and out-of-college students. This study also looks at the personality of students in behavior when faced with a dilemma. Study data were collected through interviews conducted with respondents. Next, the data will be presented in the description. The findings of the study show that the dilemma faced is divided into three, namely the feeling of wanting to return to the hometown, food and personal needs. Finally, the data shows the similarity of the dilemma between college students and outside of college but in the different from like the dilemma back to hometown. For college students, they have to go through a lot od procedures that are difficult ad tied to college rules. Meanwhile, students outside of college, the procedures are easier to return to the village but their dilemma is if Covid-19 is infected during the trip back to hometown and also financial problems. In terms of student personality, they are more concerned with the middle ground in Aristotle theory by following the rules that have been set. This study can help readers to understand the dilemmas throughout the Movement Control Order (MCO) during the Covid-19 pandemic.
