ANJAKAN PARADIGMA: PENGUASAAN KEMAHIRAN KOMUNIKASI INTERPERSONAL DALAM KERJA BERPASUKAN MEMBENTUK CIRI-CIRI KEBOLEHPASARAN [A PARADIGM SHIFT: MASTERY OF INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS IN TEAMWORK SHAPES EMPLOYABILITY CHARACTERISTICS]

Abstract

Abstrak: Perubahan paradigma ke arah peningkatan kualiti diri dalam kalangan mahasiswa amat diperlukan bagi menembusi kebolehpasaran dalam pekerjaan global.  Anjakan paradigma ini merupakan transformasi diri dengan menguasai ciri-ciri kebolehpasaran yang diperlukan oleh pihak industri. Pihak industri lebih cenderung terhadap penguasaan elemen-elemen kemahiran serta menganggap setiap mahasiswa telah menguasai kemahiran-kemahiran tersebut sebelum memasuki arena pekerjaan.   Oleh itu, artikel ini bertujuan mengetengahkan satu penelitian khusus berkaitan Kemahiran Komunikasi Interpersonal (KKI) yang melibatkan kemahiran-kemahiran tertentu.  Artikel ini memfokuskan terhadap satu kemahiran yang melibatkan proses pembelajaran iaitu kemahiran kerja berpasukan. Hakikatnya, kemahiran kerja berpasukan pada peringkat tertiari meningkatkan penguasaan KKI khususnya dalam kalangan mahasiswa.  Seterusnya, KKI mampu memberi impak positif terhadap penguasaan ciri-ciri employabiliti serta meningkatkan keterampilan diri. Reka bentuk kajian ini menggunakan kaedah analisis deskriptif dengan data diperoleh menerusi soal-selidik.  Dapatan daripada sorotan ini diharap dapat memotivasikan para mahasiswa agar berusaha untuk melakukan anjakan paradigma demi menguasai KKI bagi memenuhi kualiti  seperti yang diperlukan oleh pihak industri.

Abstract: A paradigm shift towards self -improvement among students is essential in order to penetrate marketability in the global employment.  The paradigm shift is a self-transformation by mastering the employability characteristics required by the industry. The industry prioritizes some elements of skills and considers that each student has mastered these skills before entering the employment sectors. Therefore, this article aims to focus on a specific study related to Interpersonal Communication Skills (ICS) that is involves with specific skills. This article focuses on one skill involving the learning process, namely teamwork skills. The fact is, teamwork skills at the tertiary level will increase the mastery of ICS especially among students. Furthermore, the ICS can give a positive impact in the effort to master the characteristics of employability and improve self-skills. The design of this study uses a descriptive analysis method with the data obtained through a set of questionnaires. Finally, it is hoped that the findings from the highlighted literatures can motivate students to strive for a paradigm shift in order to master ICS in order to meet the quality as required by employers.
