Abstract

Abstrak: Guru besar yang memainkan peranan aktif sebagai pemimpin instruksional akan dapat mempengaruhi tahap komitmen guru seterusnya meningkatkan pencapaian akademik murid-murid di sekolahnya. Tujuan kajian ini dijalankan adalah untuk mengenal pasti hubungan di antara kepimpinan instruksional guru besar dengan komitmen kerja ketua panitia Sains sekolah rendah daerah Muar, Johor. Kajian ini berbentuk tinjauan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif secara soal selidik yang diedarkan secara dalam talian. Responden kajian terdiri daripada 80 orang ketua panitia Sains sekolah rendah daerah Muar, Johor. Analisis yang telah dijalankan adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensi. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan tahap amalan kepimpinan instruksional guru besar berada pada tahap yang tinggi (min=4.03, s.p.=0.45) manakala tahap komitmen kerja ketua panitia Sains sekolah rendah daerah Muar juga berada pada tahap tinggi (min=.3.99, s.p.=0.50). Setelah dianalisis melalui ujian Kolerasi Pearson, terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan pada tahap sederhana di antara tahap amalan kepimpinan instruksional guru besar dan tahap komitmen kerja ketua panitia Sains (r=0.420, p<0.001). Dapatan ini telah memberikan implikasi terhadap dasar dan latihan, Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (KPM) perlu menambahbaik amalan kepimpinan instruksional guru besar pada setiap dimensi. Manakala implikasi terhadap amalan dan pengurusan di peringkat sekolah pula, guru besar dan pentadbir sekolah harus lebih bijak dan kreatif bagi menambahbaik serta mengekalkan amalan kepimpinan instruksional seterusnya meningkatkan komitmen kerja guru. Kesimpulannya, pemimpin sekolah perlu sentiasa peka dan lebih kreatif dalam mempraktikkan amalan kepimpinannya.

Abstract: Headmaster which plays an active role as an instructional leader will be able to affect level of teachers’ commitment further increases academic achievement of students in his school. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between the instructional leadership of the headmasters the head of the science department’s work commitment of the primary school in Muar, Johor. This study takes the form of a survey using a quantitative approach in the form of a questionnaire that is distributed online. The study respondents consisted of 80 Science committee leaders in Muar, Johor. The analysis that has been carried out is descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The findings of the study show that the head teacher's level of instructional leadership practice is at a high level (mean=4.03, sd=0.45) while the level of commitment to the work of the head of the Science committee of the Muar district primary school is also at a high level (mean=.3.99, sd=0.50). After being analyzed through the Pearson Correlation test, there is a significant positive relationship at a moderate level between the level of instructional leadership practice of the principal and the level of work commitment of the head of the Science committee (r=0.420, p<0.001). This finding has implications for policy and training, the Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM) needs to improve the instructional leadership practices of head teachers in every dimension. As for the implications for practice and management at the school level, head teachers and school administrators should be smarter and more creative to improve and maintain instructional leadership practices and further increase the commitment of teachers to their work. In conclusion, school leaders need to always be sensitive and more creative in practicing their leadership practices.
