ETIKA SIBER DAN PERSEPSI PENGGUNA INTERNET: KAJIAN KES PELAJAR KOLEJ KOMUNITI TEMERLOH [CYBER ETHICS AND INTERNET USER PERCEPTION: A CASE STUDY OF TEMERLOH COMMUNITY COLLEGE STUDENTS]

Abstract

Abstrak: Persekitaran siber telah menjadi sebahagian daripada asas institusi pendidikan, menyebabkan keperluan untuk memahami kesan dan prinsip-prinsip umum penggunaan etika dalam komputer khusus dalam bidang akademik dikaji. Justeru, tujuan penyelidikan ini adalah untuk mengkaji situasi etika siber yang dominan di kalangan pengguna Internet khususnya golongan pelajar. Dunia siber kelihatan seperti dunia yang kedua atau dunia maya bagi semua pengguna Internet. Pelbagai persepsi tentang etika siber sama ada secara profesional, falsafah dan deskriptif memberi pemahaman yang lebih baik bagaimana ahli cendekiawan komputer melihat etika siber dan bagaimana kemajuan teknologi boleh bersatu dengan sistem sosial. Di sebalik kebaikan, ada kelemahan yang membawa kepada negara, Malaysia juga tidak terkecuali. Maka kajian ini telah dijalankan di Kolej Komuniti Temerloh bagi mengetahui pandangan pengguna Internet khususnya pelajar tentang konsep etika siber. Seramai 123 orang responden terlibat merangkumi empat buah program dan kaedah utama pengumpulan data adalah melalui edaran soal selidik. Hasil kajian menunjukkan pelajar lelaki dan perempuan mempunyai persepsi yang positif terhadap konsep utama etika siber secara keseluruhan. Walaubagaimanapun, masih terdapat penambahbaikan yang perlu dilaksanakan agar konsep etika siber dapat difahami dengan lebih baik dan teknologi siber digunakan dengan cara yang betul.

Abstract: The cyber environment has become part of the foundation of educational institutions, causing the need to understand the effects and general principles of ethical use of computers specifically in the academic field to be studied. Thus, the purpose of this research is to study the dominant cyber ethical situation among Internet users, especially students. The cyber world seems like a second world or a virtual world for all Internet users. Various perceptions of cyber ethics whether professionally, philosophically and descriptively provide a better understanding of how computer scholars view cyber ethics and how technological advancements can integrate with social systems. Despite the good, there are weaknesses that lead to the country, Malaysia is no exception. Therefore, this study was carried out at Temerloh Community College to learn what Internet users, particularly students, thought about the idea of cyber ethics. Four programmes were represented among the 123 respondents in total, and a questionnaire research was used to gather the data. The study's findings demonstrate that both male and female students had favourable opinions of the central idea and of cyber in general. However, more work needs to be done to make sure that cyber technology is used ethically and that the concept of cyber ethics is understood.
